Accountant - audit preparation (Pittsburgh, PA)

Silverline Thistle Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for policy renewals, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with policy renewals. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Pittsburgh. • We reply to every applicant.
