Accountant - audit preparation (Phoenix, AZ)

Cedar Ashton Health is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for insurance authorisations, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around electronic records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to insurance authorisations, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with insurance authorisations. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Phoenix, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
