Accountant - audit preparation (Phoenix, AZ)

Greenridge Umber Foods produces packaged foods at its Phoenix plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 147 people based in Phoenix. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production batches. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Phoenix, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
