Accountant - audit preparation (Oklahoma City, OK)

We are growing our team at Lumen North Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer complaints, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around underwriting files against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oklahoma City. • We reply to every applicant.
