Accountant - audit preparation (Oakland, CA)

We are growing our team at Bright Foods and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. Safety comes first on every shift. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Oakland. • We reply to every applicant.
