Accountant - audit preparation (Oakland, CA)

Stonegate Hollow Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Oakland area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 11 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Oakland. • We reply to every applicant.
