Accountant - audit preparation (Oakland, CA)

Lumen Ember Manufacturing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for machine downtime, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 24 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to machine downtime, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with machine downtime. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Oakland. • We reply to every applicant.
