Accountant - audit preparation (New Orleans, LA)

Westbrook Bridge Farms is an agricultural business based around New Orleans. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. We are a family-run business at heart. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around grower contracts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with harvest schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
