Accountant - audit preparation (Nashville, TN)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Pike Financial and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vendor spend, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with vendor spend. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Nashville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
