Accountant - audit preparation (Minneapolis, MN)

Fernwood Corner Medical builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Minneapolis. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory submissions, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with regulatory submissions. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Minneapolis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
