Accountant - audit preparation (Minneapolis, MN)

Bluepeak Oak Hospitality is a hospitality company in Minneapolis with restaurants, rooms and catering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 123 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to food costs, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around reviews and feedback against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with food costs. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Minneapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
