Accountant - audit preparation (Milwaukee, WI)

Greenridge Beacon Water Authority Partners supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Milwaukee and nearby communities. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Safety and public health guide our decisions. What you will do • Track costs around treatment plant data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with pipe repairs. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Milwaukee. • We reply to every applicant.
