Accountant - audit preparation (Milwaukee, WI)

Harborlight Vista Staffing Group connects candidates and employers across the Milwaukee region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 509 people based in Milwaukee. What you will do • Track costs around temp assignments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to onboarding, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Milwaukee. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
