Accountant - audit preparation (Miami, FL)

Bright Corner Early Learning runs childcare centres in Miami caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around classroom supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Miami. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
