Accountant - audit preparation (Miami, FL)

Lumen Basin Hospitality operates hotels and event venues around Miami, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 33 people based in Miami. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with food costs. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
