Accountant - audit preparation (Miami, FL)

Westbrook Pine Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for treatment plant data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
