Accountant - audit preparation (Madison, WI)

Rivermark Union Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Madison, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
