Accountant - audit preparation (Madison, WI)

Stonegate Glen Foods Partners is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for production batches, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production batches. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Madison, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
