Accountant - audit preparation (Las Vegas, NV)

Harborlight Oak Foods produces packaged foods at its Las Vegas plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to sanitation schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Las Vegas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
