Accountant - audit preparation (Knoxville, TN)

Nova North Learning Group is an education provider in Knoxville serving students and families. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
