Accountant - audit preparation (Knoxville, TN)

Lumen Wren Legal Group provides legal services in Knoxville across employment, housing and small-business law, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 850 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to trust accounts, and clear open items. • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with trust accounts. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
