Accountant - audit preparation (Knoxville, TN)

Nova Glen Banking Services Group is a regional lender in Knoxville with branches and a growing mobile service, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan files, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
