Accountant - audit preparation (Kansas City, MO)

Silverline Harbor Energy is an energy provider in Kansas City focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Safety comes first on every shift. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with hardship programmes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
