Accountant - audit preparation (Jacksonville, FL)

Fernwood Wren Energy is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for hardship programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 467 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Jacksonville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
