Accountant - audit preparation (Jackson, MS)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Ridge Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with policy renewals. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Jackson. • We reply to every applicant.
