Accountant - audit preparation (Indianapolis, IN)

Clearpath Forge Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for carrier rates, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We reward reliability. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Indianapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
