Accountant - audit preparation (Indianapolis, IN)

Northwind Loom Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for premium billing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around catastrophe response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with premium billing.
