Accountant - audit preparation (Houston, TX)

Nova Wilder Housing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for lease compliance, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Houston. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to lease compliance, and clear open items. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with lease compliance. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Houston. • We reply to every applicant.
