Accountant - audit preparation (Houston, TX)

Summit Union Hospitality Group is a hospitality company in Houston with restaurants, rooms and catering, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to housekeeping schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around reviews and feedback against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with housekeeping schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Houston. • We reply to every applicant.
