Accountant - audit preparation (Honolulu, HI)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Wilder Insurance Partners and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to underwriting files, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Honolulu. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
