Accountant - audit preparation (Honolulu, HI)

Greenridge Hollow Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Honolulu design routes and schedules. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Honolulu. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ridership counts, and clear open items. • Track costs around fare systems against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Honolulu. • We reply to every applicant.
