Accountant - audit preparation (Honolulu, HI)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Meadow Press and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Honolulu. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around press runs against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Honolulu, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
