Accountant - audit preparation (Grand Rapids, MI)

Lumen Linden Facilities is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for contractor visits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 25 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with contractor visits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Grand Rapids, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
