Accountant - audit preparation (Fresno, CA)

Lumen Ridge Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Fresno. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Fresno. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
