Accountant - audit preparation (Fresno, CA)

Westbrook Sparrow Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Fresno. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to work orders, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around supply orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with work orders. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
