Accountant - audit preparation (El Paso, TX)

We are growing our team at Lumen Beacon Housing Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 97 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Track costs around repair requests against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent assistance, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with rent assistance. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
