Accountant - audit preparation (El Paso, TX)

Highbridge Glen Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in El Paso. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in El Paso. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
