Accountant - audit preparation (El Paso, TX)

Summit Orchard Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the El Paso area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 377 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Track costs around network equipment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
