Accountant - audit preparation (Detroit, MI)

Greenridge Summit Markets is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for supplier deliveries, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 171 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with supplier deliveries. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Detroit. • We reply to every applicant.
