Accountant - audit preparation (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Iron Pharma and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around batch records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinical studies, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with clinical studies. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
