Accountant - audit preparation (Des Moines, IA)

Foxglove Timber Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Des Moines, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Trust is the product, so accuracy and clarity matter. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory reports.
