Accountant - audit preparation (Des Moines, IA)

Greenridge Glen Energy is an energy provider in Des Moines focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 15 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around meter readings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines. • We reply to every applicant.
