Accountant - audit preparation (Columbus, OH)

Harborlight Lakeside Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Columbus presenting exhibitions and performances, and we need an Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer programmes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around event logistics against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
