Accountant - audit preparation (Columbus, OH)

Stonegate Amber Housing provides affordable homes and support services around Columbus. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. We value patience and follow-through. What you will do • Track costs around repair requests against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with rent assistance.
