Accountant - audit preparation (Colorado Springs, CO)

Amberfield Iron Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for premium billing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to premium billing, and clear open items. • Track costs around policy renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
