Accountant - audit preparation (Colorado Springs, CO)

Amberfield Wilder Early Learning runs childcare centres in Colorado Springs caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Track costs around licensing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tuition and subsidies, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with tuition and subsidies. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Colorado Springs. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
