Accountant - audit preparation (Colorado Springs, CO)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Early Learning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Colorado Springs, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
