Accountant - audit preparation (Colorado Springs, CO)

Harborlight Hollow Care Services provides in-home and community support in Colorado Springs. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around licensing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to care plans, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Colorado Springs, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
