Accountant - audit preparation (Colorado Springs, CO)

Fernwood Cobalt Property Management Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for unit turnovers, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around lease renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with unit turnovers.
