Accountant - audit preparation (Colorado Springs, CO)

Fernwood Kestrel Financial Group serves customers across Colorado Springs with accounts, loans and payments. We are hiring an Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account servicing, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with account servicing. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
